Got transfer case rear yoke leak fixed

now I have a leak coming from front of rear diff. It's not dripping from the case, but from where the big nut for yoke goes by U joint. What is that seal called ?

Any trick to it? Pop drive shaft off, pinion nut ,pull pionon yoke and then dig seal out ?

First check that the breather vent and tube have no restrictions.
Your description of repairs is basically correct. I use liquid Teflon in the yoke/pinion splines to seal there.

The one thing you have to be very careful is to tighten the pinion nut just right. Gotta Goldy locks that nut not to tight and not to loose.

That is the pinion seal.

Many people will mark the pinion nut before removal so they can tighten it back to the exact same spot on install. The goal is to not change the preload in the crush sleeve in the process.
