Hey Ashman & Randal,
Fellow first gener here. Not far up the road from you here in Poky, ID. We should somehow get together on a trail run in northern UT somewhere. BTW Ashman you are a copycat. Your chop job on your hard top is nearly identical to mine. I'll have to figure out how to post pics for ya. :woot:
Not far at all yeah Im down even for a meet up your way sometime soon. So I can get me some of those lotto tickets you guys sell.

yeah, I'd be down for a meet and greet if we can make it happen.

The windshield header was made by Z71paramedic right here on the forums. I don't think he's set up to make any more but if you're in slc some time I can let you take a look at it. I don't think it would be too difficult to copy once you see how he put it together.

Okay Guys help me out if you can I was pulling out of the driveway to go to work today and my brake light was on and I hardly had any brake pressure I looked around the truck to find a big wet spot on the driveway where the passengers rear tire was leaking brake fluid I didnt have time to figure out what the problem was. It was low on brake fluid so I filled it up agian and still had hardly any pressure. I then drove it to work like that to see if it got any worse or any better I know that was a bad idea to do but my other truck is full of garbage ready to go to the dump. Has anyone ever had this experience?

Probably a failed seal in the wheel cylinder, you should pull the drum and see where it is leaking from. I definitely wouldn't try to drive it until you get it fixed.

yeah, my guess is a wheel cylinder as well. They are cheap and pretty simple to replace.

Home made soft top

Fixed my brake issue it was the brake cylinder, Thanks everyone for the help with that issue that was last saturday's fix. Now for the new update. For awhile I have been thinking about making a soft top for the jimmy, I had yesterday off so I went and bought 2 army half tents that I thought would work in making the soft top total cost in making the soft top $20.00 and am I impressed it turned out alot better then in my head total time in making it was about an hour and a half. Here are the pics of the top.

Last three pics are when it rains I can pull the top to the end of the tail gate and help prevent the rain from getting in.

That looks cool. Does it flap when you drive?
Had a bikini top on my Landcruiser it flapped quite a bit.

Thanks it does flap but not that bad I made it very snug and tight to help prevent that from happening. I have not yet taken it on the freeway and im guessing it would flap more but not where it can be noticed.

No not really. But I have came to a conclusion with what I am going to do with it. My old plan was to find a frame and do a frame off but things have changed. Here is the new plan which was really the original plan. I am going to swap vins with my current tub with the nice tub and swapping all my old stuff and such to the new tub replacing what needs to be replaced like wiring etc.. and also adding some stuff like ac etc.. But I cant stand the thought of not driving it while working on it so I will be on the hunt for another Jimmy or Blazer to drive while mine is down. I am addicted I thought this would happen but not this soon. My plans on doing this is around tax time so I will have some money to spend on parts and or new truck. This is atleast the thought I have in my head we will see how it plays out in reality.
