I'm told it's a chevy 350, and it does have a 10 bolt front axle and 12 bolt rear, automatic transmission and 4wd. What are the weak links/problem spots in this vehicle? What level of offroading can I do before worrying about breakage?

we need more info about tire size, lift size, and what kind of wheeling you do.

but in general the axles, frame at shock mounting points and steering box are the two worst things.

Stock tire size, no lift, and just beginning wheeling. More along the lines of sight seeing and getting to less accessible fishing holes.

Me too, almost.I have 33`s 4" lift, winch bumper, locker and a few other things for protection and things to either keep me from getting stuck or outa being stuck. But the

Is my idea of 4wheeling.

I'm thinking an eldelbrock 600cfm carb(have on sitting in the garage) and a little cleaning and simplifying in the engine bay is about all the mods for now. Pulled the carpet out... thinking about using bedliner to "carpet" the interior for easy cleaning and durability.

That's why I started getting into 4 wheel drive vehicles, though I don't fish  Then I discovered wheeling and that's what my k5 is going to be for :D

Doing much the same thing with my Suburban as you want to do. I'm going to lift it 2" or so and use 33" tires, mostly because it is a daily driver too.

I'd probably keep the q-jet if I were you, the Edelbrock is more suited to a street vehicle. Just bouncing down unimproved roads would cause mine to sputter in my K5.

Where can I find a service manual to download for free?

Where can I find a service manual to download for free? I know they're out there, even found one for my 2003 dodge.
