so heres the story. my cousin and i have been making alittle extra money on the side by scraping junk. so a couple days ago when we were at the scrap yard, we noticed a p/u sitting in the used car lot across the street. turns out is a 79 chevy silverado k20 2wd trailer special (11000lb gcw) in real solid shape. so we looked in it and the interior was in real good shape except for alittle wear on the drivers seat. looked at the odo and it only has 98k on it! it has a 4bbl 350 goodwrench motor, th400 tranny, and a 14b ff rear. its inspected, so we went and talked to the owner about taking it for a drive, which it drove nice, but wouldnt hurt to have alittle tune up (plugs, wires, oil and filter). we asked what he'd sell it for and he continued to tell us how he was going to use it for the motor, and most likely scrap the rest. so he said he would sleep on it and tell us the next day. turns out we're getting it for $700 :eek1:. so we are both happy with it. should be picking it up in a week or two. :D

ahh the possibilties. I have a 4wd longbed chassis sitting outside with 6" springs and 39's....4 speed and 203 sitting in the yard....

Man this weather needs to clear up so i can start building my TRUCK!!!! :mad:

:haha::haha:

Nice score ;)

yeah, i thought it should be a c20 also, but i thougth the emblems said k20? maybe not. i think i was just seeing things. but anyway, we are thinking about taking off the bed and selling it and building a flat bed with sides in place of it to use for scrapping/towing my trailer

that would be pretty cool. i like flatbeds, gives the idea of "workin' truck" more then enything else. more so then these glittery rides you see rolling around nowadays.

yep, definatly will be a work truck for us. we plan on using it for scrapping, hauling my trailer, and possibly plowing in the winter months. anyone know what a solid bed in the shape of this one is worth? anyone want to but one? :D

yup, definatley 2wd. otherwise good truck. i dont know how 2wds do as a plow but you cant buy a truck with a plow prep package w/o 4x4.

I have never gotten much more then $100 for a good bed in out area. its worth just keeping it and not having to build something and worry about it being legal.
