M1009, been in storage for @ least 5 years. drain fuel tank, very old diesel, clean. installed new fuel filter, the old one look new as in back in the day. cranked system no fuel to injectors. I pulled both front left and right injector lines @ the injector ..as they are easy to get to. any thoughts...the line had some of the old diesel in them but just wet. no fuel flowing @ all when crancking...thanks for any help..."trying to get started"

Pull the pink wire from the pump and crack the top blled screw on the filter housing to see if you have fuel pumping out there

did both. no air in filter, pressure but clear fuel in dump line on side of filter. cranked off and on 6 -10 times. have 12 volt starter on the M1009 24 volt system and she cranks extremly fast...got the starter from Jim in Beltsville.Maryland he has a lot of K5 stuff. any other thoughts? thank's!

i've got the same problem, changed IP's because of a failure w/ the old one, the pump i put in came out of a year newer truck that supposedly ran, but i get it all back together and have no fuel to the injectors, i've presurized the tank and get fuel up to the feed line, but when cranking nothing comes out the injector lines, when i pressureize the tank the rubber return lines between the injectors seep fuel (time to change them obviously) any help would be appreciated, as i'm having a hard time w/ this one

I pulled the rubber line from the fuel filter to the fuel metering unit that is under the intake manifold. there was tons of fuel comming out of the fuel filter fitting. now what?

the lift pump should be putting out around 7psi.

Check to make sure you have 12v to the pink wire on the IP when the key is on. If it does then the fuel shutoff soloniod in the top of the IP is stuck/broken.

I directly hot wired mine while cranking to be sure I had power. it may be stuck as that happened on a VW diesel i had. are they hard to dissemble and clean. that is what I did on my VW. thanks!

I tooj the cover off the injector pump solenoid and there was about a nickles worth of water in it. can any one recommend a good service manuel for 6.2 diesels . one that would have some details of the fuel injector pump so I can understand how it works? thank you.

Rebuilding an IP should be left to professionals. There is some fairly precise metering to be done.

As for manuals I bought some GM Tech manuals off eBay. Mine are for a 6.5 Turbo. You can download for free Military CUCV manuals in PDF over on SteelSoldiers.com but I find trying to look something up on a PDF to be a pain:mad:

looks like IP issues. i bought a humvee good one off jim in Beltsville for $10. I thought I could just change the slonoid top as Humvees are 24 volt, but it has wires going to the side body which is different then the CUCV ones. they have vac lines. anyone need a 24 volt Humvee IP that has a good 12 volt trade? thank you.
