I am finishing up my anti wrap bar. Were the bottom tube meets the top tube it is close to a 22 degree angle. What is the easiest way to notch this?

I do 90% of my notching with an assortment of chopsaw or plasma to get it close.. then hogging out the fishmouth more as needed with carbide burrs, 4 1/2" grinder, etc..... grind, fit, grind, fit, rinse, repeat, till right...

i rarely used notchers anymore... only on the simplest of joints.. which for some odd reason, I rarely get.... :doah: :haha:

Yeah I had a couple of those like 17* on my rear cage bars. I actually used the program I found online. I just searched tube coping or tube notching. It makes a template then I used a sawzall and angle grinder to finish it.

hmmm, link to that would be cool.... I know the bend tech stuff has the label printing gig, but a free program would be cool for that.. tho my sorry arse still doesn't have a printer yet...

most of the time, i just take a piece of scrap, eyeball it next to the piece, make some hash marks with a sharpie and connect the dots...

Here is the link. I printed them out at work but forgot them. 30 mins both way plus gas doesn't sound worth it. lol But notching with out the template may take even longer.

Kert used a portaband, and 7" cutting disc to do mine:

oh, i know.. i dreamingly have shopped end-mills before... it'll never happen.. but it reminds me that i would like to get my lathe up and running at some point...

This... ^^^

I also keep a bunch of cut off pieces that have already been notched and sharpie the angles on them... That way I can grab ones that look close and test fit, then fudge it a bit on the notcher...

But, on the extreme crazy notching, it's usually what ryoken said...
