Looks like the old barn may be lost

Renovation work at the site is the suspected cause

Saw that...terrible thing. I have no love for the frogs or catholics, but I can dig the history, and skill they had 875 years ago. Not to mention the artwork, tapestries, historical documents that are lost.

Been a lot of church and synagogue fires across Europe as of late. Not pointing fingers, but I would not be surprised if it was not an "accident".

Looks like the work of Satan.
Renovation will be a little more extensive and take longer than expected now. :frown1:

    :haha:
    Either way they're definitely rejoicing.

I heard they got all the art out previously due to the renovations.

Awful...a lot of history gone in a matter of hours..hard to believe how old it was,and it hadn't fallen to fire previously..

I heard on tv the interior and spire were all 12th century oak trees..dry as bone probably, bet it was a HOT fire..the scaffolding was leaning like some had melted ,the fire was so intense..they showed the spire falling in ..:(
They reported some of the priceless artifacts and artwork had been rescued ..

I thought I heard them say it was some religious observance day today ?..tried looking that up but see April 15th being listed as "Tax Day","Boston Marathon Day" ,and "Patriots Day" ..:dunno:

I wouldn't be surprised if it was set by some kook..quite a few churches in LA have burned in recent weeks, and probably more elsewhere..

Hope the contractors have a mega liability insurance policy !..

Funny how stories like that don't hit the MSM. Anyhow, back to the topic at hand......

We never hear even 1/4 of whats really going on in the world if you ask me...only the news they want us to hear & believe..

I hear more "real news" on talk radio late night shows than on TV ..

I liked listening to the Savage Nation, but haven't heard it on AM radio around here or anywhere for that matter, for a few years now..
Micheal Savage predicted long ago his show would be "banned" from public airwaves,I guess he was right...been a long time since I logged onto his web site,I guess podcasts are the only way to listen to him if no radio stations locally play his show..

He has an interesting view on today's cathedral fire..

It really is (or was) an amazing place. Considering it was built 800+ years ago the fact it made it this long is really amazing. Think of all that has happened- war with the UK, French Revolution, the Great War, WWII, and just time.

That rose window was beautiful. If you didn’t know it was removed in WWII to protect it from the nazis. Made it through all that, but now it’s gone. I’m glad I got to see it, but sad future generations never will.

If nothing else it’s a good lesson for all of us- don’t put things off, you never know when they will be gone.
