Now it is a K30 build thread

eww yikes better trade it off to me.... lol while youre in there are you gonna lock it up?

4" lift and 39.5 Swampers will be good. That's what I've got. Just for reference about how much lift, my front leaf springs are straight, no arch to them. I wouldn't want anything taller. Works great in mud. No driveshaft mods. I have a slip yoke np205 and no problems. I"d post a pic but I'm rebuilding the front axle at the moment.

obijuan...It has a govlock in the back now. I will probably put an open carrier and a detroit in it. But unless I go to 4.56 it really isn't cost effective/beneficial to go to 4.10s. I will probably be next year though as I have some house projects coming up for winter. Since I am building this to play lightly(I don't want to destroy the truck in the hardcore stuff...so it will be a mild build)...keep it low, not do too much to make it unfixable as it is a Silverado K30 and they are hard to find even though the body is beat on this one.

4" and 35s tonight!!
Thats exactly how my '85 K30 looks.

I've got 4" Skyjacker front and rear springs, no blocks anywhere. 16.5 x 9.75 Welds on 35's also. Pics of it can be seen in my Webshots album.

.

thatk30guy...Yeah I like the way yours sits. I thought about going 6" but, with the way that the front fenders are shot I figured that a little trimming wouldn't kill them. What weld caps are you running the pushin or lug covers?

Push in style caps.

On my next "nice" Silverado K30, I'm going with 6" front and rear springs and looking at 37" Radial Dick Cepeks.

Just want a nice driver a little bit bigger than my current K30.
