I currently have a d44 up front with flanges and was wondering if i can swap in a different axle(allready geared and locked) with manual hubs and not have to change ne thing on the 203?

You will have to run the 203 always locked when the hubs are unlocked because the 203 acts as a differential as a full time unit. Not a good idea. Putting a P/T kit in a 203 is no big deal.

Thats how i did mine in 2wd until i got a new tranny and tcase. It gets the ultimate in ****ty gas mileage but the 4wd works when you need it to. Not to mention that the front shaft gets a workout everytime you drive the truck which wears it out quick.

x2 on the part time kit as the rear of the transfercase is the only thing that needs disassembly. gl.
