I am restoring my NP203 Transfer Case.

Someone has been in it already and there are missing roller bearings in the Differential Carriage assembly. It may also be missing shims on each roller but I can’t tell from the historical documents.

So, anyone have one of these or have one that has already been disassembled? All I really need are the bearings.

If you were closer, I would give you a complete NP203 for free. If I tear into it to pull those specific parts, I would probably charge $100 shipped.

Thanks Kenny. I wish I were closer too. Hopefully something comes up as these things seem to be scarce. No one seems to sell these bearings. I found one outfit in Canada that may have them. I’ll give them a call today.

I will check. I took 2 apart for the range boxes and threw the rest in a tote. Will have to dig in the shed.

I have a complete 203 I can disassemble if need be, if no one has them already separate.

Let’s see what Hank is able to dig up out of the tote in the back of the shed. I’d hate for you to go to the trouble of taking one apart.

Lots of hard parts but no needle bearings. What exactly do you need? That whole diff cross?

I need the needle bearings and possibly any missing guts out of this…

Looks like that one has already been raided and the guts are long gone.

I basically need the red circles items. I’d also take the four bolts that hold the two shells together.

I will look some more. I took 2 apart don't have 2 of everything in the box.

While Hank searches under the bed, what would you charge me to take it out and mail? Like I said above, I don't need the two halves or the gears. Just the bearings, the four bolts and the spacers. That cuts down on the mailing weight quite a bit. This particular part is easy to get to as you only need to unbolt the Front Output Cover off.

I’d have to get it apart and see what shipping costs, whatever it costs to ship is fine with me

I believe I have them. I'll double check tomorrow.
Long story. I was rebuilding mine, swapping from part time back to full time ( IIRC when you install the part time kit these bearings get tossed ). I needed these needle bearings, which if these are the ones... they don't come in the rebuild kits. I drove all over the state and called all over the US. I finally found a bearing manufacturer that supplies the companies making u joints and caged bearings etc. I gave him the specs, he said sure we have them. I would have needed to open an account and buy something like 500,000 units haha. He was really cool and threw a handful in a bag and shipped to me completely free.

Look at your first picture you really need to replace the spider gears the hard surface on one of the tooths has failed and will rapidly wear down.

I'm hoping to find someone who has the entire guts. You can't buy these parts any longer. At least I've not found a place online. I can't even find a transmission shop that works on old cast iron transfer cases to ask if they have a source. The most pressing need is the bearings and I think I'm missing one of the two end rings in the red circle above. I only have one on each axle.

Chick is also looking. Hopefully between you two we can coble together what I need. I surly would be grateful for whatever you guys can come up with.

Correct, these do not come in any of the rebuild kits. Not sure why but suppose the demand isn't there. If you can remember who the company is I'll give them a call.

Offroad design ? They build 205 cases and 203 range boxes for doublers .

I have a super clean #76 unit sitting in my room as art work on a shelf . If this would work for you .

I called Offroad Design, All Star Gear, and Transtar...no luck with any of them.
