I'm looking to buy the NP203 twin stick that ORD makes, but I have a few questions about it.

1) What's the lead time on it?

2) Does it bolt right up to the existing transfer case mounting location?

3) Are there any modifications that will need to be made to allow use of the twin stick design as opposed to the factory stick?

As far as I know, the twin stick is for the 205, not 203. When used with a double, the twin stick or the triple stick can be used. However, only one "stick" goes to the 203.

ORD has one for the 203 that runs about $170 according to the site. Though I don't know how up to date the site is. It must not be a very popular item....I was figuring that someone on here might have some personal experience with it.

I'd like to get an answer to a few questions prior to plunking down almost $200 and then finding out I have to modify something to make it work.

ORD has a few things that I'd like to get ahold of in the near future...but I like to know what I'm getting into before it gets ordered.

The 203 twin does bolt up in the factory location, it's a pretty easy install overall.
Lead time is about 2 weeks at this point, maybe a bit quicker depending on order timing. We build most of our parts in batches so lead times vary depending on where your order hits in our build cycle.
There are no other modifications required, it just bolts on and give you independent control of the gearbox and differential.

One other nice feature is that this shifter is basically the same as our Doubler shifter so if you do a Doubler later, there's very little work to do on the shifting.

Good to hear answers straight from the man himself.

I'll order mine on either the 20th or 21st, any idea on where in the build cycle those dates will fall?

i think im gonna need one also im only getting 3 out of 5 of the shifting pattern from what i hear the np203 shifters go out alot. will the twin stick solve this problem?

If it's a problem with the shifter or the linkage and not the transfer case itself, then it should solve the problem.
My shifter was so filled with crud that it didn't work for anything. I disconnected the shifter linkage and it worked fine.

So as soon as I get paid, I'll be ordering a NP203 Twin Stick.

I have a 203 twin stick from ORD, and it is 100% better than the stock one. It was easy to install, the only mod I had to do was trim a little metal around the floor board. Shifting the transfercase is a cake walk now, and when I decide to get the doubler, all I need is a longer link to reach the 205.
