Can you mate a np205 to a 700r4?
Yes, I have heard it being done. And as long as you use a 27 spline 205.
Requires a spacer (don't know where to buy it) or a shorter output shaft on the tranny, available through advanced adaptors and requires a tranny teardown.
it take a new output shaft on the trans. and a 205 that was mated to a th350. ( i had one )
AFAIK, no one makes such a spacer. They have been custom built... but I dont think there are any mass production spacers out there. I am trying to do that same set up... I have a Raptor 700... and want a non-slip yoke, all gear, BEEFY tcase... I have the 205 already... just need a way to mate it...
The spacers are available, I just don't recall where from. I have the AA tailshaft in my 700R4 and it works great. I have heard that some people that have fabbed their own spacers get an inernal vibration, but again, just internet hearsay and I can't recall the source.
really? meditate or something man! I gotta know the source!! /forums/images/icons/blush.gif
I believe Advanced Adapters has everything you need. I have their adapter and output shaft in my 71 with a 205 and 700R4.
Although their site doesnt show it except in the pdf docs, see http://www.advanceadapters.com/acrobat/gm.pdf
or call them at 800-350-2223
It would be the same adaptor the th350 uses.
