np208 to a np241

i have a mechanicle speedo np241 and want to swap it into my truck with a np208 and i was woundering what was in volved in this swap

Unbolt the 208 & bolt in the 241. It should be a direct swap with mech speedo's as long as they have the same input splinecount.

thanks they both came off a 700r4 the splines should be the same

Then it should be a direct swap. Just remember it will take about 4-5 quarts of ATF to fill the case up.

Also, the little arm that bolts to the case that connects to the shifter needs to be swapped too. The angle is about 90* off. Just need to pull the cotter pin IIRC.

Very good point, Just got done swapping out a 32spline 208 for a 241 in my yard truck and left the arm/linkage attached to the shifter.Big surprise when I tried hooking it up to the 241, first glance they look the same!
