I've been thinking about this and I want to know what everyone else has for goals. Just state your timeframe and what you want done. I'm a junior in high school, and soon, I should have a pretty good paying job ($180-200/wk). By the time i graduate, I'd like to have:
SYE'd 241
HAD 1350 CVs f/r
turn my 14FF
D60
cut and turned 60
rebuild the 60
5.13s
detroit f/r
shackle flip
Hill front shackles
44 or 46" rubber
Sawzall action
268HE cam
roller rockers
nice alum. intake
edelbrock truck avenger carb
headers
new flow 40s (beat my old ones up taknig them off)
cable cut outs

that's it!

i know i'm dreaming, but hey! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif:D:D

SOMETIME IN MY LIFETIME...

-14 ff with eaton e-locker with 4.10's
-D60 with 4.10's (but prob a 10 bolt with 4.10's in the meantime)
-upgaded my 33" baja claws to 35"
-2 inch body lift and poly mounts to add to my 4 inch susp. lift
-a winch bumper to mount my winch on!
-rock sliders...need these soon, rocker panels can't take much more
-a nice rear bumper
-oh and MAYBE before i retire...an exo-cage

yup that would just about do it for me

and no offfense guys but once i'm making enough money i'll be puuting it into a current model year (prob 2023 by that time) defender 110 series (don't worry i'll keep the k5 around for the really hard stuff)

lets see, in my lifetime lol.
The truck will be up to 8" lift, 39.5" boggers
Built D60 front w/ arb locker
14ff with detroit locker
Onboard air & welder
NP205
SM465
finish my 496 in a few weeks (YAY)
repaint

goal:

to wheel and have fun.

j

Take all the lift off and....

Fuel injected 572
A center drop t case, like in a monster truck
4 link front and rear, with coilovers
11.5" 14 bolt axles, front and rear
4 wheel steering
49" Swampers
And paint /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Then get the '02 HD and...

Banks kit, propane injection, edge tuner
1 K of torque
Coilovers all the way around
38's and 44's /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This is what is going to happen once I collect all the funds which is going to require some simple sacrificin of other things.

6" BDS front springs
Echobit flip in rear w/ ORD Zerorate
ORD Steering Brace
ORD Greasable bushings
14FF w/ 4.88s and undecided traction device
3/4 ton 10 bolt with 4.88s (60 after college)
Crossover if its cheap enough
EA 589s 16.5x9.75
37x12.50 SSRs

And all the other mods that a 6" lift requires. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I would just like to get my blazer back on the road before the summer and it would be nice to make it a year with out somthing busting.

Gotta do a 600 mile drive pick up my boat tow it home in the K5 tommrow. My goal is to get there and get back. Hope it doesn't snow.
Time frame 2 days.

By the time I graduate from High School... I want to have (some of this stuff I already have):

1978 Chevy Cheyenne K10 - 402bb (either fuel injected, or a sweet ass carb), sm465, dual np205's, 5.13 gears, lockright front, detroit rear, D60 front with 35 spline outers, 14FF, 4 wheel disks, dove tailed front and rear, cab narrowed, full cage, Xover with hydraulic assist and high steer, 15x10 Rockstomper Beadlocks with mudrings, 39.5 Boggers (or 42" TSL), snorkled fully, dual optima red tops, Warn 9500HS front, Mile Marker 9000 rear, tube rear with short bed skins, 12 gal fuel cell, Line X interior, shave axles, Reinforce diff covers, chop top, soft top, Kansas street legality (probably never gonna happen), Coils front & rear (coilovers would be cool, but I don't have the funds), tube bumpers, and rocker guards, tube half doors with stock door "skins" attached, dual optimas, onboard air compressor (mod'd A/C unit), little welder, onboard torches, and tons of spare parts /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Getting a trailer here pretty soon (next time I go back to Alabama). And I need to do some stuff to my soccermomish Tahoe (Exhaust, wheels, chip, etc. Bolt on stuff).

After I get that done, I'll move on to building the Tahoe. I might just sell it, and start with a diesel though. The Tahoe has about 160-165k on it right now. It'll probably have like 190k after high school. The Cheyenne's Odometer reads 97k, but the speedo hasn't been hooked up in forever

soon mods for my K5:
hopefully a front D60 with an ARB or LS.
4.56 or 4.88 gears. EZlocker, LS, something softer than a deroit for the rear 14FF.
Rear disk conversion.

New fabbed shafts.
x over steering
10" superlift instead of 6+3 combo
cowl hood

ORU SFA conversion
D60HP (hey, i own this part already - look at me go! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif)
14BFF with a Detroit locker
35s, maybe 37s if they'll fit with 3" lift on top of the ORU kit's 3"
....3" or 4" custom springs (hey, its my DD, i want it to have decent on-road manners too!)
Bilstein 5150 shocks
hi-angle driveshafts w/ 1350 u-joints
ORD crossover, maybe with hi-steer

eventually, i want a 12k winch, 6 lightforce lights (4 on the roof, 2 on the bumper - oh yea, i want a bumper too) dual optima yellow tops, bigger alternator, on-board air, nice (but not stupid loud) system, and built axles.
