Looks to me like a bracket to help prevent the t-case adapter from breaking. If you look closely you can see where it bolts to both the trans and t-case

Also to mount shift levers on. There will be a pivot under the plate and the thre shift levers will come through the slots. I think anyway!

Looks like to be a stock 85-91 465-208 or 205 adapter. Something like 7 inches long.
