hey guys,
looking for a good way to mount some additional coolers (trans & oil) out in front of my radiator on my 80 k5. how did you guys mount yours? any kits available? and pictures of what worked for you guys?

specifically looking for hard mounts.. i don't want to zip tie coolers through my radiator.
thanks

here is what I did....some simple 1x1 square tubing for framework....w/ holes drilled through it and nuts welded to the back side for mounting bolts.

I'm currently in the process of mounting my coolers as well, I just use 1/2" X 1/2" aluminum angle and it has worked out great. Just pulled it apart to clean it all up. On that note anyone know what line is the out vs in line for the oil on a 90 k5? I've search far and near on the webs with no luck. I even tried to cheat and fired the truck up with each hose in a bottle and they both spewed oil??? One more than the other but still hoping for more definitive answer

It's generally good practice to have the fluid fill in from the bottom so not to trap air

GM truck coolers fill from the bottom and exit at the bottom.

I was not talking about GM coolers, my oil cooler is the black one in the picture it has both ports on the side. One at top and one at bottom. That's why I need to know flow direction. sorry Drew did not mean for this to be a thread hijack. Thought it was a quick answer

the instructions for my B&M call for the bottom port to be the inlet port and the top port to be the outlet. might just be B&M, but it also called to be mounted with the ports either to the side, or facing the top.

but that is just to help prevent fluid aeration.. flow direction really shouldn't matter to any universal cooler like these.

Might be late to the party but I just ran some self tapping screws and added a piece of aluminum bar.

That's better than North Korea. Or China, what's your point?

No point, just thought it was strange to see S. Korea was its origin...not China or Mexico,or USA...but then,I guess Kia's come from there too..
