To add to this, the oil will continue wicking even if you clean the bolts really well and apply sealant (it will wick more slowly, but it will continue to seep via capillary action). You *need* to clean the female threads in the heads really well as well or your effort is in vain. Get all of the oil residue out of those threads and seal with a good flexible sealant like Rolls-Royce/GM Hylomar or Permatex No. 1 Aviation Sealant.
