I'm not sure, but there should only be a PCV on one side. The other side should be where the air is drawn in, probably through the air cleaner housing.
You might try replacing the PCV itself. If you lose suction you may be more prone to leaks. Just throwing out ideas here.
that's not blowby.... leaving the pcv hooked to the hose.. pull it out of the vc hole while the engine is running.... how much smoke is coming out the vc hole? blowby is cylinder pressure being forced into the crankcase, it will often push oil residue past pcv and filler grommets on higher mileage motors...
Looks like seepage from the bolt holes/seals and that rubber grommet for the pcv gets hard over time, not sealing too well. to me. Had similar crap on the original engine in the burb. I just cleaned them off now and then because I knew the engine was getting replaced soon.
Did this just happen that you know for sure or are you just noticing it? It doesn't look super wet from the pics.
Take the oil cap off and see if it's blowing out excessive. My 322,000 rangers got some blow by but not enough to blow oil onto the engine.
New PVC and grommets first,.
No, it's probably been doing for awhile....just noticed it because its been parked for a little bit. I'll try replacing the grommet, oil cap and PCV valve for now, and see what happens.
