I have been cleaning up my engine bay for awhile, what do you guys think?

and I replaced my oil pan and oil pump. I really dont want to pull my distro. Would it be a bad idea to start my engine without priming the oil pump?

You don't have to pull the distributor. Just remove the power to the coil and then crank the engine until oil pressure is achieved, then replace power to coil and start.

Is there a reason to worry about this at all? I thought priming was to get oil into the galleys of a newly rebuilt engine, not about the oil pump.

Any difference between this and letting your engine sit for weeks then starting it? Pump is just a bit above the level of the pickup (right?) which means it should be submerged in oil anyways.

Actually, the oil pump is not submerged in the oil, only the oil screen.
