Ok I have just over a grand and I was planning on getting my headers and exhaust done finally. But I went out wheeling the other day and there were a few ledges I couldn't make it up. I know how to fix that (detroit /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) But if I do the detroit I can't afford my headers. I have a set of old used shorty heddmans I could use then get the high end dynomax exhaust hooked up to them, but they might be kind of rough. I could use manifolds, exhaust and the detroit. or I could jsut wait about a month and get the detroit then and finish my exhaust now.

What do I do /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thnx guys /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

locker. More power won't help you do crap if you can't get traction /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'd go this route. You've gone this long without a Detroit, you can another month....

headers suck, they are a temporary item
locker is permanent

Driving my truck with both axles locked this weekend was nearly a religious experience. It made stuff I might not have even tried before easy to the point of being almost boring. Dump the header idea. Run stock manifolds with a quality exhaust and a hi flow cat. Unless you have a fairly high performance engine to begin with, headers aren't going to net you much more than noise, heat, and exhaust leaks. Just my opinion.

ha ha ok it's getting locked /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

But do I use the stock manifolds or should I use these headers that I have laying around..

my headers are banged up, they are better than the manifolds I had before. Its up to you, if you don't care abotu some ugly headers hanging on there go for it.

Those aint shorties. Shorties are them little edelbrock (tes i think, for all i know that is a manifold) headers, those are shorties, basically a tube manifold.

/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Ok well whatever the hell they are, will they hurt my low end? /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
