Old Iron 2.0

The top is, the box may be a different size
So they all have the D-shaped end regardless of year?

If so I can get the shaft that I used to have back from the guy I sold it to when I parted the K5.

I'm gonna pull the shaft tomorrow, shoulda pulled it earlier to check... just got out of the shower and don't feel like getting dirty again today.

Yep thats the same. 2 sizes of inputs on the box. If you have an o ring style fitting, its the smaller if the 2. Nice chart on ORDs site

Pretty sure the TRE's I ordered were for 1/2 & 3/4 ton applications... I popped the old tie-rod off, TRE's came out with ease using a rubber hammer, no pickle fork needed (don't know if that good or bad). One boot was shot, the other TRE didn't have a boot anymore.

I went to put the new ones in to measure for a tie-rod and they just slid right in, I put them in as far as they would go/ as high up on the the widest part if the shack as possible and there was a lot of play.

I ordered some from ECGS that say they are specifically a 1-Ton TRE for a Dana 60.

P/N's that I currently have: ES2021L & ES2010R

P/N's that I ordered today: ES2234L & ES2234R

Hopefully those are the right ones...

Got the 2wd box and bolt-in steering brace in. Absolutely zero cracks in the steering box area of the frame rail, totally surprised about that.

Trying to get the core support bolted in today. I need new rubber bits that go under the bottom of the radiator.

Planning on trimming the "fang" off of the red fender that I put on the truck too.

Took my TRE's and DLE's back to O'Reillys and got my money back for that garbage.

Picks up these bad boes while I was in there. The guy at the counter told me that the chrome hood pins would add a guaranteed 35 horses to the rear wheels. I'm deleting the cable operated hood latch.

Non-rag joint style?
U-joint on each end, kinda like one of those fancy Borgeson ones but from a junkyard. Same one I used on the K5 in the build thread. Buying it back from the guy I sold it to when I parted the K5.

I pulled that shaft out of an Express in a Junkyard in Nashville and it took me about 3 hours to do so... there is a protective rubber boot made out of like 1/2" thick rubber running from the bottom of the steering column down to the steering box (or whatever they use in newer vehicles) I had to cut all of the wirring going to the steering column and then tear the column from the van... true pain in the ass.

Photo of the truck I took last night.

Made some little cover-up plates this morning. I have some holes on the interior and exterior of the cab from where the P.O. had a spotlight or antenna installed.

Gonna rivet them on and use some RTV on the undersides of the plates to seal them up.

Planning on pulling all of the cable operated hood latch and E-brake stuff out of the cab today.
