They did use an 8 rib belt on that CVF setup, so it does have 1/3 more contact surface vs the same length 6 rib belt setup.

This is about the same as the TPI, which I run. If I cram the wheel at full lock it makes kind of a "ringing" noise, but not belt squeal. Of course good drivers don't jam the valve open beyond the end of travel.Wow that power steering is barely touched by the belt. That's definitely not enough belt wrap. Does the belt squeal while turning at a standstill?
Oddly enough no. With the back plate off the impeller was tight to the shaft. The impeller did have a flat plate that blocked view of the blades though. I was up handling someone up front when the pump was opened up though. Not seeing any smoking gun the back cover got put back on.Does anything seem to be wrong with the old water pump?
