Want some pics.

I want to do a front bumper with a mix of old school, and some new.

Taking the upper tube stuff that follows the grill lines like this one, but minus the center 70s/80s push bar stuff, and a lower tube bumper with skid plate etc.

Need some ideas to help me imagine what it would look like...

Mine is kinda like that.

I found one of the old school type grill guards on a truck at the junkyard.

I cut some of the pieces out and welded it to the bumper. The grill guard unbolts from the vertical uprights which was a factory setup. I added tabs at the ends to bolt to the bumper as well.

I also added the bump up on the top to house an LED light bar. The grill guard mostly uses 1.5" wide 3/8" thick flat strap, including the original parts that curve around the headlights.

Probably not quite the idea you're looking for but maybe there's a little inspiration there.

Im thinking more tube, but that is a great example using plate.

I like it, thanks :waytogo:

Thanks. I kinda figured you were, but I thought you might be able to do the same with a tube grill guard if you find one. I noticed around here there were several listed on craigslist. I think mine was actually on a newer body style pickup but the curve around the headlights matched up. I did have to add some width in the middle if I remember correctly. The newer truck front end was a bit narrower I guess.

What about something like this but incorporate the tube around the headlight area.

I think this belongs to someone on here:dunno: but could you use a grill guard section like this...

...on top of a base section like this?

Both of those Blazers I've looked over many times. I like them a lot.

The British invasion k5 is my favorite.
