Are Optima batteries ok to mount inside the passenger compartment, or is it a 'no-no' and the danger is just like a regular battery? I was thinking between the 2 bucket seats, or maybe in the back by the tailgate.

Just something to think about. When I was at Moab my alternator Voltage Reg went out and fried my Yellow Top. It spewed acid all over under the hood peeling off the paint in the wheel wells. I would imagine this could have worse effects in the passenger compartment.........................

Good points guys. I never thought about that scenario. Good idea on the battery box. I'll put it in the back of the Burb.
