options other than a doubler..

Or you could get one of these, slam it on the back of you're 700r4 & then bolt up a TH350 style NP205. You can pretty much throw a rock into a junkyard around here & hit a truck with a TH350-NP205 setup. Fifty bucks for the adapter, 150 for the t-case = 200 bucks for a pretty tough setup.

I know you have to redo the drive shafts or move the motor forward about 2 inches, but I think that's a pretty good way to go. If you really wanted to go crazy you could get a LoMax, but I thought this is a budget solution discussion.

Buddy

or you could run twin toyota cases. on pirate there was some guy on there running them in a k5. i think the front case had the stock 2.7 and the second case had like 4.2 or something. thats some pretty deep gear. not sure how he mated it all up, but toy stuff isnt that expensive from what i remember. but again they are just joys :)

ill stick with the doubler im building :) i dont care bout weight

This is an interesting thread though I have grenaded my 241 two winters ago and that definitely sucked. Since I am doing mods almost throughout the whole Blazer, I opted for the 203/205 doubler since I wanted the independent front wheel drive for any given situation. I'm open to new ideas and may be leaning towards the Dana 300. The 300 is still vague to me but can Dana 300 can be twin or triple sticked or even work the same way as a doubler, but if anybody out there knows for sure then just post up.

Currie sells a twin stick kit and it is real easy to conver them over. There is no tripple stick kit though. It would be 1:1 and 4:1 only unlike a doubler 1:1 2:1 and 4:1.

The D300 is alot like an NP205 as it is gear driven and has the passenger side drop.

Thanks for the info, man. I'm taking the Dana 300 into consideration.

BTW , if you look at the pirate link Shawn gave , the guy happened to have a 27 spline Dana 300 ( probably converted prior ) to use as a TEST for engagement and fitting to the factory np241 adapter .

He actually went with a STAK

yeah I saw that he went with a stak instead... If I do go with the 300, I'll be doing it cheap... no way I'm buying a stak.

I don't know about doing it cheap , you need to at least get the input shaft changed beforehand with any boneyard case . Doubt the stock outputs last .

dont you know by now...NOTHING is cheap!:haha: :p:

Besides having to upgrade almost every internal part, D300's are known for breaking cases with big tires and horsepower.

You want options and don't have a ton of power, bolt up a pair of Toyota cases.

Im going with a stak, less weight than a doubler, close to the same cost, and it looks cool!
