Whats the diff? Its time to order one but I recall reading somewhere the diference is one uses an outboard shakle and one is an inboard shakle. what does this mean exactly?:dunno:

Im looking into a shackle flip also. No idea what im doing lol. Hopefully somebody will. NEED INFO!!

The ORD can use the stock shackle, considered an internal shackle, the DIY uses an external shackle, like the front springs use. As to which one to buy, they are both high quality, super beefy and sold by companies that are great to deal with.
I personally have an ORD setup, mainly because I wanted less then a 4", so I went with a 2.5" ORD setup, well built, fit perfectly and Stephen is always very helpful on the phone when ever I have spoken with him. That being said Kert makes awesome stuff, is super knowledgeable and has been great to deal with as well.
So to say which one is better is like asking , is blue or red a better color :D

You can't go wrong dealing with either company!

personally i prefer the external shackle of Kerts... allows for more shackle length options easily... but they are both excellent pieces...

kirt will make you what ever you want if you pay. he has said this before.

and only real advantake to kirts i see is cheeper shackles if you wana fine tune the truck and switch length.

What about that zero rate add a leaf block thing on ORD??
I was thinkin of going with that. I need more pictures though lol. Im a picture dude rather than an instructions person haha. Thats why im getting my CAD degree lol

if i would have known that the diy one was cheaper, i would have probably gotten it. i am quite happy with my ord on though. both are great products if you ask me.

Ok guys looking to spend maybe $500-$600 but i could go more. I want a 3" lift on my truck. I want the Shackle Flip setup i think. Has anyone done this where they could literally put up a link to every single thing i need to buy that would fit on my 85 K5 to lift it 3" done and ready to go. I really have no idea what im doing lol. From the kit, to shock length, steering stuff, leaf size, dont care about break lines, those are easy. But any and everything i need so i can order and not mess around with messed up sizes of stuff. I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Adam.

I have that ORD setup since before they actually called it a kit. And the stock shackles are fine.

I ran the stock shackle at first and bent it my 2nd wheeling trip if you run it on the road the stock shackle is fine if you do a little wheeling the stock shackle may be fine if you play in the rocks up grade the shackle.

i been runnin a ord flip kit 4" on my 1ton for few years.

old nasty a$$ rusted shackles the bolts are frozen to the spring bushings even.

i wheel it and dd it . oh ya i also have a plow on this truck and use it . and i even put 4000 lbs or more of gravel in the back a lot the last 2 years. for lots of land scape work i did. even so far as to pull my 8ft pickup trailer behind with 4000 lbs more so thats 8000 lbs of load alone.

never once bent/broke a nasty old rusty stock style shackle. :dunno: you tell me what i am doing wrong to not break/ bend one .
