Im about to finally set up my ord tie rod. my right hand rod came with a jam nut , however my es2010l didnt come with one, it is 7/8s left hand thread fine. But I cant find this thing anywhere.. lowes only goes up to 5/8. ace no, home depot closed tonight will check tomorrow.. Where did you guys purchase the jam nut?? or could you point me in the direction of a link if I do end up having to purchase it online..

call em up and tell them . that should drop one in the mail for ya. and for fast ship have them use a flat rate evolope.

and if your nut you are missin is the left hand thread good luck findin other than parts store with another tie rod end.

You really don't need a jam nut on both sides BUT call Trevor at WFO concepts and he can sell you one (that's where I got mine when I ordered my HD tie rod from him).

Call or give us your info, we'll get you squared away first thing Monday.

Otherwise Scott is right, in the short term you don't absolutely need two jam nuts.

I work at a parts store anyone know another tie rod end that comes with jam nut?? and this is the ORD tie rod, but I'm using aftermarket ends.

TRE's don't come with jam nuts. People who make or buy a custom tie rod need a jam nut to keep the TRE from loosening itself because there is no longer the factory adjuster sleeve to do so.

almost all tie rods do NOT come with the jamb nut like said by 4x4high.

the few that do is for rack and pinion stuff. way to tiny.

the stuff we use is from big stuff that used clam shel clamps to hold them so thay wouldnt use a jamb nut.

if you are building a custom unit then got to plan ahead. and dont asume it comes with what you need. heck even parts that do come with them somtimes dont show up in the box. this from 10+ years of wrenchin on stuff. its not 100% included.

Autozone or maybe it's Kragen sells there chinese version of ES2234R with jamb nuts, cuz I just bought some recently. You're on your own for the left side though, I use both right hand threads. ES2233L might though if you're lucky...

I've got the tube type tie rod with the 2 ends an I am only using 1 (right handed) jam nut. It has been on for over a year and hasn't budged yet.

not the best idea to run with out jamb nut tho.

what keeps the parts from going back and forth rippin the threads out over time.

Both are 1 ton chevy TRE's, both come with jam nuts, one is left one is right. Don't remember which is which. Good idea and pretty cheap to carry a spare of each.

none of the es2010l ends I came across came with a jam nut, the es2234r does however..

Maybe I should add this to a different thread for future reference, and help, but check this out!!
i am a part time autozoner and full time student.. depending on what it is, a few of our "house" brand duralast parts are actually made by different companies... Well me being the investigative autozoner that I am I discovered that Duralast es2010l and es2010r from autozone are actually moog parts! es2010l-$27.99, es2010R-$20.99. After ordering es2010l for myself (I wanted moog parts, but its easier for me to do crap from my own job) and opening the box, I thought my tie rod had been incorrectly packaged coming in a duralast box, because moog was stamped on the tie rod boot, and the tie rod was STOUT!! I then ordered myself es2010R today and recieved it, Duralast box, however no Moog stamped on the tie rod boot, but this tie rod end is Also STOUT! Flip it over, look at back side, FEDERAL Mogul on backside of tie rod. The maker of moog parts.. these are indeed moog parts for half the price..

Es2234r is actually a gm 1/2-3/4 ton TRE with familiar 7/8-18 threads. GM 1-tons use a 52" long drivers side TRE with 1"-18 threads. Es2010l/r are dodge w-series TREs with the 7/8-18 threads. All of these TREs have the same stud on the balljoint, however.

i cant convince you either, I dont like most of our parts either, especially chassis parts, I'd rather lay down the cash on some moog, but If you dont believe me just check it out for yourself..
I'm just trying to let people know about a pretty good deal..

I bought both of those tre's from carquest last summer in their "house" brand and both came with nuts. Was told they where chevy 1 ton. Yes both are 7/8 shank.

Wouldn't be the first time a parts store clerk was wrong. A GM Dana 60 drivers side tie rod end is over 4 feet long.

I can get you pictures of mine with a micrometer if you'd like.

This is the common Dodge W350 TRE with the short shank that people use because the lh-thread GM 1/2-3/4 ton TRE has a steering stabilizer hole in it. (ES2010L/R, 7/8"-18 thread)
