    00103102-E676-481F-A861-179CDE9D3B4F.jpeg Well shiiiiiiit!

Mowing the old house’s yard after doing the new house. Half way through the front yard I realize I can hear a rumbling from the deck. Slow down the engine, turn blades off, noise goes away...yep...one of the belt pulley bearings probably. Turned it back on and with a thunk the center guide pulley goes flying out.

John Deere doesn't make them like they used to.

$20 on Amazon and a new one will be here Saturday.

This guy flew into our big picture window last year. I picked him up a laid him on the table. After about 5 minutes he just buzzed away. Same with the hawk, except he just flew away. No buzzing!

You can drill out the rivets or spot welds, take the two pulley halves apart, and replace just the bearing, which is usually a common number like a 6203 or 6204,and use nuts & bolts to put the sheaves back together..

I had to do this to most of my old Sears Suburbans, since their parts are pretty much NLA or you have to substitute ones that will work off other brands that you can still get new..I found out some John Deere's use pulleys close enough to identical on the mule drive on my tractor,so at least you can still get something new to replace ones that are damaged --they aren't cheap though..

    I love Hummingbirds!!
They are like big Texas mosquitoes...

Don't get to see too many around here, but the few that do come to the feeder seem to hang around when they aren't off doing other bird things...

I have a few woodpeckers that hang out in an old oak in the backyard... I like watching them hang upside down while they eat the suet blocks I put in the feeder... They are comical chasing away the squirrels and Blue Jays.. :D

Yeah, but a whole new one will be not terribly more expensive and quicker to replace.

So I couldn't find a nice four wheeler in time for this weekend's ride, I did however find something that could be used in place of one, that was much, much cheaper.

(Also could be used for future heart donation)

Only the finest machine $650 can buy.

Maiden 4x4 voyage for shorty... And the first time I got to take all the boys with at once. Just some mild road ditch stuff for a half HR. Everything worked perfect :thumb:
