painting aluminum???

hey! a question on prepping a aluminum fuel cell i just bought for my truck. i went with the natural aluminum rather than paying $50 extra for powdercoat. i plan on using od green rattle can just like the cab. question is to make the paint stick proper. i have some aluminum etching cleaner, should i use that? then etching primer. or can i se the etch/cleaner then a good primer then paint? thanks

definitely put a pisscoat of zinc on it.. don't need much.. transparent is fine....

the cleaner is a nice bonus, but i would definitely put some zinc on before any paint or reg primer.... cheap insurance.. you can get it in qrts, etc too from any paint manufacturer...
