Correct, it should be ok. It was when I last aligned it, I'm putting my new kicks on when I get back from picking them up tomorrow. Was going to throw it on the rack then and double check everything.
I built a panhard for my dually. I went with crossover and hydro assist first, but the truck still wandered a ton going down the road. The frame and shackles were moving enough that I could turn the steering wheel about 15 degrees before I had any steering response. And when the wheels would turn the frame would flex back so it felt like i was driving a rubber band. Now the extra weight of the Cummins I'm sure added to my issues as well as the horrible scrub radius that the front rims have mounted on the dually hubs, but it may be close to your scrub radius, depending on your backspacing.
Anyhow, here are a few pics of the setup I fabbed. My bar is almost the same length as my drag link and at the same angle too ( although the pictures don't make it look that way). I didn't have the room to make the bar the exact same length as the drag link. It doesn't have any noticeable bump steer and the truck handles much better now than it ever did. Adding this bar tightened up my steering tremendously.
sorry for bringing up an old thread.. but rompinstopmin have you ever changed it? Any thing you would do differently? I am about to install one on my truck as well, cummins swap, dually.. the bushings and everything just cannot take the movement anymore.
