i have ordered a bunch of parts last 3 days list includes:
gm serpentine belt system
electric fans(jegs)
weather stripping(all of it)
gas tank
sending unit
side steps
an alarm(auto page)<someone keeps trying to steal it>
I am tired of spending money maybe when i get all this stuff on ill fell better

well i didnt get the hood cowl seal or the vent window seals but i got both doors and tail gate seals $355 and the top seal

why not just junk yard parts for around 100 bucks or less ? thats all i have ever done and it all bolts right on.

o.k. thats cool. just LOTS of 88-95 trucks out there with 4.3 and 5.0 and 5.7 in them.

but i have been in both places before and can understand were you are at.

ya i cant work on them like i used to so im having a shop here in Lubbock put it on

put my truck in the shop for the second time and they are actually working on it!!

There is a place called Dalton auto here in Lubbock that i took my truck to last week, and for three days they didn't touch it. It sat there with 3 dollars+ worth of parts in it. when i went to check on it he snapped at me and said i had to have some patience,and he would call when they got around to it.
I saw red and said give me my truck.

To me when you plan on spending alot of money somewhere,you cant be rude to the costumer or they leave, or at least i did.

Took it a week later to precision auto and they are half way done in a day!!!!

Precision auto

Can't speak for the one in Lubbock Tx, but the Precision Auto "chain" stores here in Birmingham area were running a couple scams. One was to advertise a brake special for like $35, they would get folks in and give them a bill for $400 when complete, saying the vehicle needed all kinds of other items done and excessive labor costs, etc. Another was to mis diagnose a vehicle to purposely keep 'em coming back, fix a little at a time so to speak.

Like I said, I don't know anything about the ones in Lubbock, or if they are even part of the same "chain". I know a few folks here in Bham that got burnt by this group.

I try to do everything I can on my vehicles, and my families vehicles too. I have not found a real good mechanic here in Bham since I moved here. Had one, he retired. They, unfortunately, are getting hard to find. The only things I have not done yet is a transmission rebuild and a full engine rebuild (done top end and bottom end on 2 different small blocks, but never a whole rebuild).

I hope it works out for you. Business must be real good for that first joker to treat a customer like that.

ya i wanted to snatch him bald when he told me that.

picked up my truck today the guy i took it to only charged me $1413.96.
here is what he did: mount serpetine belt system, electric fan mount and wired,brake master cylinder,front and rear brakes, gas tank sending unit and the rubber hoses,
wheel studs all the way around,and weld the hood hold down on.(it was about to come off)

now i just have to find an ac condenser and charge the system.
