Pecmoney's 5.3 Swap Thread.

Got the dirty dingo mounts installed and the 5.3 setting in there. Pretty tight to the firewall and clears the cross member just barely. Think I'm going to the either notch and weld the cross member or make a whole new one just to give it some more room to slide forward if need be.
 
I used the factory engine mounts at first and barely had any (spelled "none") crossmember clearance. I ran it like that for a while cuz im a dummy.

I then used DIY4X lower engine mounts with my dirty dingo uppers. I have plenty of clearance now and did not have to hack the factory crossmember.
 
makes me wish I would've never got rid of my 5.3 I had laying around...
 
Yep sorry folks. Work has been hell. 12 hour days 7 days a week. It's in and running. Took it down the road and the transmission was bad. No second gear. Currently taking it out and getting it rebuilt.
 
Subscribed I'm getting ready to do a swap myself, I'm doing my research first. I've honestly never done more then minor tune up work so this is gonna be a big challenge.
