Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

I'm thinking of buying the rear spoiler in the Performance Products catalog.....not the one that they make, but its made by someone else...anyway...I was just curious to know if anyone has put one of these on their Blazer ('86) the catalog doesnt give any specifics as far as years, so I'm assumeing that it would fit....??????

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

I asked the same question a while back and nobody answered(sniff, sniff.......). I really wnat to install a rear spoiler wing and have been actively looking for pics of different options. C'MON GUYS, help us out!!!!!!!!

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

YEAH!!!!!....I'M THINKING IT SHOULD FIT...GUESS I COULD ALWAYS CALL PERFORMANCE.........????....HMMM...MIGHT JUST TRY THEM RIGHT NOW..

Spoiler? Real 4-wheelers don't need no steenkin' spoiler!

Seriously, a K5 has the aerodynamics of a brick so what will the spoiler do? It might keep the back window a bit cleaner. One tree branch caught in it just right and you'll be patching fiberglass.

Put that money towards the engine, drivetrain or suspension!

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

That's what I was going to ask....another question. Why the hell do people put those big ass wings on Hond@s anyways? You can only do 65 mph on the freeway anyway.....

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

the spoiler keeps the exhaust fumes from getting in the cab when the back window is down, plus keeps the back window clean.
a good idea unless you really like getting co2 buzzes

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

They put the spoilers on the back of Hondas because they are stupid and they dont know it make more downforce on the back and less on the front where the drive wheels are. That way they get less traction...actually it must make them fast...it came off a Supra

and it makes them look fast

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

My intent was to keep the back window cleaner and the exhaust out.....NOT to be one of those fruit-ass import posers who put them on their little rice-burners to give the appearance of a HI-Performance mean machine...those kids make me laugh!!!!

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

My reasons are the same as K5XLR8R- I don't take my top off in the summer because it only lasts for two months up here, and I love the open feeling the truck gets with the back glass down. I DON'T like sucking back exhaust fumes, though. And because our winters are usually long, and the roads are quite often slushy and yucky, and my Blazer drives on the highway at least twice a week for over 70 miles, I would welcome the fact that a spoiler helps to eliminate rear-window buildup.

The "rice" factor NEVER EVER enters the equation when I look at products to enhance my Blazer's appearance or performance.

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

hey now, you mean i won't look cooler with a spoiler? does that mean i should take off my "powered by honda" stickers?
damn, i just put 6" wide tires on my 10" wide rims, too. i guess those will have to go...

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

I though the idea with those guys was to install 6 inch wide tires on 10 inch wide rims.

I've heard that the spoilers will keep the back window a bit cleaner, but I go into the mountains too often. I'd be real worried about ripping it right off the roof. If you use your rig mainly as a snow wagon, then it wouldn't be a worry.

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

the topper is the same for all half-cab blazers, rear-width-wise. it won't matter what year you buy it for.
i'm looking at all the cars that have them, and the sport-cutes, and just order one that i like. some of them have a third brake light, which might be kinda cool. it doesn't necessarily have to be a BLAZER rear spoiler.
and it doesn't need to stick up into the wind much at all to be effective, so i doubt a branch will do any damage. branches bend, and scratch your paint. if you go through branches strong enough to rip something out of your fiberglass, you obviously don't give a [censored] about the looks of your rig, so a spoiler is not for you.

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

OK!? ....AS I SAID BEFORE..I'M NOT BUYING IT FOR THE DAMN "COOL" FACTOR...WAS GOING FOR FUNCTION....BTW IT DOESNT FIT ITS FOR '92 AND UP BLAZERS...GOING TO CHECK LMC

Re: Perf. Products Rear Spoiler for \'86

I have a fairly new factory Blazer spoiler (87) that I'll sell for $40 plus shipping. I bought it new from the dealer in 96 and only had it on for a year. It's stainless steel and in perfect shape. Email if interested.
