Im going to be replacing the body mounts on my 78 this weekend. Here's how i plan on going about it, loosen all the body mount bolts, remove driver side body mount bolts, jack up driver side from the rocker area, old mounts out/new mounts in, lower driver side back down, loosely instal driver side bolts, remove passenger side bolts, etc, etc, then tighten all the bolts. Sounds good? Should i need to disconnect anything (brake lines, steering shaft, wires) to gain the amount of clearance that i will need to pull the old bushings out and put the new in?

Sounds good. Use a big ass 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar handle, not an impact. The nuts will twist inside the cavities in the body. Unfortunately I did not know that when I did it on my 79 c20, and I assumed the nuts were stripped. I opened up the floor in one spot and learned how it really worked. Twist the bolts slow and steady and they will come out. I used penetrating oil, but it is hard to get it up into the nut. My truck is also rust free.......well according to most, but really it has only minor surface rust in some hidden areas, so the metal is sound and strong. This may be a bigger job if your body is rusted badly.

I used energy suspension poly mounts. It does ride firmer, but the old rubber mounts were also very broken down and soft.

Thanks man! Thats the same mounts im using. Fortunately I have already pulled the rear most bolts already to try and shim them up and they came out fine. So hopefully the rest will also comply!
