This is my gf driving, first time she'd ever driven anything off road with tires bigger than like 29's. Almost had a heart attack when I told her I was gonna get out to take pictures. She loves it! She's a natural though...lookin out the tires and everything. :D

And this is the most over the top vehicle I've ever driven. 2005 Toyota 4 Runner Limited. She wants something new and this is what she's considering. 4.7L V-8 that pulls like a train. The damn thing has a back up camera. Soon as you put it in reverse, the image pops on on a little screen in the dash. The navigation system tells you real time what road you're on and changes the instant you turn onto a new road. About $45k...

Well, we drove the Grand Cherokee Limited with the Hemi, GMC Envoy XL Limited with the 5.3, The 4 Runner limited with the 4.7 and looked at a bunch of others. All at right in the same price range of $40-45K, as far as she was concerned, the 4Runner was the nicest of them all. Compared to the others, you got MORE bang for your buck. And we drove and looked at all three within a few hours...Not goin by what a "buddy says". :)

blingin rims. So when you gonna tube that thing?

Those 20" rims/tires are a $3400 dealer installed option. She hates'em. She asked if they could be switched out. :)

And I'll tube it soon as I can afford a bender and a couple hundred feet of tube. Or atleast just the tube and I'll borrow a buds bender. :D

didnt mean to offend you, but hes a mechanic for them and he just tells me like it is. his wife wanted one and he refused, they went with the new minivan they have, and ill be damned, i love driving that! lol

Congrats on getting out! 2 times in 2 weeks almost?!?!

Re: 4runner
We have a decked out 2004 Limited and it kicks ass. Not the highest power out of comparable vehicles but more than enough. I think it has the highest safety rating out of the comparable rigs - important for us with the little one.

It is much more 'drivable' than the sequoia.

Down side - they are in demand. Tough to dicker/get any discount. And it was so bad in my case the salesmen don't even call you back.

The other option for me was the v-8 Toureg (oh, if they only sold the v-10 diesle in Ca :cool1: ). I think it will be a few grand more feature for feature but definitely a step up on quality. The germans make cars like you weld. :cool1:

When you guys get yours we need to look into putting the nav and back up cameras in our trucks ;)

Those are great photos. Nice shadows and angles. Bad truck dut'nt hurts none!

The v10 would be for me. Would settle for the v-8 tho - we have that engine in the Audi - it kicks ass.

Either way I am very pleased with the 4runner grows on me every time I drive it.

$59k for the V-10 diesel is a scary # though. About $15k more than her price range.
If you drove one, and had the coin to buy one, you would.
I took my dad's new Touareg for a spin (the V-10 TDI), and that thing is an animal cloaked in a business suit... and unless you're right next to it, and know what to listen for, you'd never know it was an oilburner.
:saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet:

NIce pics. Makes me more and more want build a truggy. What holds the radiator from moving?

$45K for a yota? And people think im crazy because a duramax costs that.

There's two bolts through the bottom of the radiator holding it on. Till the tube work is done, thats basically it. That and the two hoses....lol
