Piecing together a full vert! (This Blows)

Time for a little update

I have been searching for a while for a 1973-1974 grill. Finally came across one on craigslist for $20! Could use a little cleaning, touching up, and an emblem but no cracks.

Today UPS dropped off the TNA Rear Axle front adjustable hangers. These things are really good looking and of course beefy! Going to look for some 64's and move the 52's to the front
Those brackets are cool. They would be awesome for fine tuning your shackle angle.

I'm excited to get to the suspension part! Today I'm working on cleaning up the new frame. I'm thinking about welding some more bracing in the frame. Also been talking with Kert about some boxing

I used Kerts box kit. Its a good starting point. Make sure you get the right year. In hindsight it would be easier to remove cross members and make your own cross members. I also boxed mine.with the body on it (PITA).

Haven't put much work into the blazer lately, wish someone would have told me how much weddings cost before I proposed :rotfl:
Picked up a 14 bolt with 4.10 gears from a suburban, the guy also had a tailgate that he sold to me for $20

Then I was poking around on craigslist and ran across a dana 60 front. Picked it up for $400!! A dana 60 wasn't really in the plans right now but for that price I couldn't pass it up. It is going to need to be gone through. I got to see if I can get my built 44 sold so I can put money into rebuilding the 60. It is also DRW so I'm going to be on the look out for some SRW hubs.

Yeah, that is one advantage of our area. D60s are cheap enough to consider exporting them .

Also...weddings can be expensive. Just in case you haven't figured that our yet. :haha:

I'll also point out that they don't need to be that way. :deal:

HaHaHa we are finding ways to save money on some of the expenses but sometimes I think man that venue could have been some pretty cool blazer parts

Inspiration!!! You know that you have to make is as clean as Larry`s work!

Hey I know that truck....Larry's work is an inspiration. Glad it can be used as such. Not bad for his first actual LS type swap. My goal is to not screw it up now that it's in my driveway. Keep up the good work on the full vert!
When they can be saved, they need to be saved. My 75 was beyond saving without a crazy amount of money to be spent on sheetmetal. The top and associated parts were saved for somebody else to make one though.

I thought that too, but then I ended up throwing the best 1 day party ever. People still talk about my wedding, and I do not regret the amount of money I spent. Blazer parts are cool, but making a memory that you do not regret is better.

I do want her to have the wedding she has always wanted, years down the road probably wont even think about the money spent just how great a day it was.

After doing some contemplating and figuring how am I going to be able to get this blazer done before September next year I decided that the frame I had needed too much work and had to go. It had a lot of pitting and thinning making me want to get into boxing. Ended up finding a rolling frame (3rd one is the charm) that was redone at some point in its life. The frame was straight and had no major rust issues. It is going to need to be cleaned up in some spots and some new paint added. Also decide to go with more of a stock drive train and mild 4 inch suspension. Going to keep it looking more stock then what i was planning in the beginning. This should make things a little faster to get done. Going with a carb 350 th350 and np203. Going to use my dana 44 and 14 bolt rear with 4.10 gears. The dana 60 and ls stuff will be saved for a future project.
