Piecing together a full vert! (This Blows)

Well, that's 2 weeks from now. We are thinking of heading to the Cheese Days fest in Monroe. Which will bring us pretty close to your location.

Oh well, we'll try some other time. We pass through Madison semi-regularly, it's just a matter of diverting a few miles. We'll be heading through there Tuesday morning, but won't have much time for stopping.
I should have used my toes when counting that out. Have to do wedding stuff. Hopefully ill have it more looking like a vehicle when can swing by.

Great looking build. Try to remember that Mount Rushmore was built one rock chip at a time.
Don't Quit!
Bnow
Thanks!! It will be nice when it is done, I find myself saying " i could drive the blazer here if it was done" whenever we go places.

You got to be shitting me? Your going to drive, (what 6 hours) for that?

No, not for that. And I'll go on record as saying this idea is crazy. But 2 of my cousins just moved to Madtown, and we want to spend some time with them. They wanna go to Monroe, and I'm not opposed to sampling copious amounts of cheese, so this time we're heading South. Next time should be them coming up North, but after three months of kicking the can down the road we've finally found something that they're willing to do with us (they've shot down every other idea that we've offered). So I'm going to drive 4 hours each way to see a tiny town dressed out in 147 flavors of cheese for the weekend. And to spend a weekend with my family members who want to see what Wisconsin is all about. The poor souls have never seen a farming town, much less a quantity of cheese exceeding that in a non-Wisconsin grocery store. I'd much prefer that they were interested in seeing the Northwoods, but I've given up on having them come our direction. Busyness is definitely a choice, and they have chosen to be busy. :doah:

The idea is batty enough that I'm still not convinced that we're gonna do this. Family or no family, I can see a whole lot of the world for less driving than that. I can be in Canada or Lower Michigan, or nearly to Minnesota, and spend less than 4 hours driving. Lake Superior is superior to Monroe in so many ways.

Cheese Days! I try to hit it every other year. If you like great cheese you can't beat it. Monroe is only about 15 mins from home for me.

="broflow, post: 3691868, member: 57113"]I said "Every other year" or as you said even years more accurately.

I meant that as a joke since cheese days is bi annual.

And it sounded as if you only go every other year...

Maybe we should just have CK meet up at Baumgartner's !!!

Limburger on rye.. add a dollar on the ceiling.

Campy, you experienced that yet?

@campfire

Not that combination, nor have I been to that joint. I've only been to Monroe once, and it was several years ago now. I just remember a dizzying number of cheese types and a plethora of polka music. Didn't do anything else aside from watching the parade. It hasn't ever been local for me, so I've never had a reason to head back there. Until now. ;)

I have had limburger and rye separately, though. :wink1:

I remember that they were really proud of their limburger, that they were the only creamery in WI making the stuff. Every small town has some unique thing, and I will always remember Monroe as the cheese town.

Just as New Glarus will always be one of the beer towns.

PSA - looks like you tagged me in an edit, but I wasn't notified. I'm making a mental note to start a new post whenever I need to tag someone (instead of adding a tag to an existing post).

For a long time Monroe was the only place in the ol U. S. Of A making limburger. Not sure if that's still the case with the rising popularity of " craft cheese"

And I understand about Monroe not being local and never really visited there... But you have never experienced Monroe if you have never been to baumgartners!!!!

And yeah I went back and edited your name in, but I guess it doesn't work like that.

Make sure you stop in and ask to donate a dollar, they will do the rest!

I walk in and ask to give them a dollar? What happens after that? :dunno:

Well, aside from being a dollar poorer. :haha:
