    Ok guys...
I have an 83' K5 and just put a new 400 small in it. It has new roller rockers and cam. The timing was dead on when I got it back. After it heats up, the valves chatter. So I retarded the timing and they stopped but the engine surges in gear and the idle dropped. So if I put it back to 0 degrees it runs fine, but the valves start up again. What is the cause and what should I do? Put higher octaine in? Thanks
