All you pistol guru's....anyone ever hear of a STAR 9mm?
Yeah.. not crazy about the Stars though....
Made in Spain... and not sure of their quality..
I would only buy a beretta/sig/HK foreign pistol or the new Springfield XD.. (made in Croatia and imported by springfield armory)..
And the price is right on the XDs...
Just my opinion... you get what you pay for.
Yeah Stars are pretty much bottom of the line as in CHEAP Autos. I'd pass on one. Besides they are made in Spain. Spain ran away in Iraq.
If you are looking for a good cheap 9mm auto pistol get a CZ model 75B
Excelent Gun. Made in Czechoslovakia, one of our allies in Iraq. Very accurate well made quality gun for its price.
Yep, Star is kinda crappy. As far as relatively affordable handguns, I have owned several Taurus' and have been really happy with all of them, the little PT111 is a pretty good little gun. I own a PT92 which has been as good a gun as I have ever owned, it's as reliable as my Browning Hi-power, just not as pretty. Just my humble opinion.
Hate to keep bragging it up but Ruger P89 $340 or so
CZ's are great also, $400 or so from what I've seen
Steyr M or S series... 9mm, 40, 357 sig... all under $300 and every bit as good as a Glock...
