So back to the questions, anyone see an issue with mounting this in the middle of the body mount bracket?

And thoughts on placement? Im using 5" wide in the middle, 4" in the front (any wider and the angles of the frame get weird and the plates wont lay flat.

And i was able to get it all down to bare metal after i took the pic of the mount.

Looks good to me. Might just be a little clearance issue welding with the body mount but should be doable. Are you putting new body mounts or solid ones in or anything like that before making the body one with the frame? I guess it doesn't matter much but I was just thinking so that it was not sitting crooked or anything from wore out factory ones. But I guess it would just be wasted money unless you could get solid pucks made for real cheap.

It sags a little drivers side im going to jack it up a little when i weld the legs on. This side is actually caving in a little so its not really doing anything. Im going to cut out a big section of the floor and add thicker metal and some rigid bracing so the floor stops caving in.

If i was able to get my hands on a tbi 454 with harness and ecu with a 2wd trans that all runs for $350 is that worth it. Might throw a 454 in pb
I think that's worth the price, but how easy it is to swap in, I dunno. The trans would be where I would check. Is it a 4L80E?

Its a 2wd 400. I think the swap should be easy especially if he has the wiring. If not cant i stick a new manifold on it and make it a carb HEI 454?

After blowing hours messing with my welder i called in a pro, he adjusted the stupid thing and its welding amazing.

He was kind enough to throw a couple suggestions my way and hung out while i made one leg to make sure i had it.

Think this will be incredibly solid when im finished.

Yeah its nice. If something is in the way you just cut it out and patch it back in later... or never...
