PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
Yeah, but this is what Joey has to work with. Getting and changing the tub would be a lot more work.

@the_blaze , I like the your plan!
It was just a comment on how much I like to work on rust
I just admire people that have the patience to deal with rust.
I have done some back home when I didn't have options, but now that I have an unlimited supply of rust free, I take advantage of it.

Oh yeah if this were anything more than a dedicated wheeler I'd either fix it the right way or get a new tub. Since eventually it will likely get narrowed front and rear im not real worried about it. One day it will probably be just skins.

Shit load of crappy patches done.... 5 more to go. I cut out the really rotten stuff, Por15 everything, added larger patch over holes and put por15 on the welds/patches. Ran out of por15 :( been doing body work and this patching so I'm burning through it pretty quick.

Learn anything good hacking this thing up?
Yes.
1. You can always add more metal.
2. I feel ok welding sheet metal now.
3. It's just a truck and not flesh and blood. ( with my other build even drilling a small hole for a wire was painful for me)
And many many other life changing lessons. I really think everyone needs at least one vehicle they can chop up and beat on. Calms the soul.

Yeah I really enjoyed working on my wagoneer.
When I bought it, it was literally in the weeds in a fieldfor 8 years, it was low and grass was touching the rockers and fender lips so I was feeling comfortable with the sawzall.

Are you planning on running any kind of carpet or something else after the cage is in?

Yes throwing down sound deadner, insulation and carpet. Absolutely overkill for a dedicated wheeler but I wanted to try this once before I tried to do this on my nice blazer.

I finished stripping everything down, I'm going to clean everything and start laying down the sound deadner.

Little bit each day...
Using pictures from 3 different guys that have used the diy4x roll cage as a reference i made the needed cuts in my dash. Lookin at this from the top down I really don't see how I can keep the far left ac vent with a tube going down there... but we will see what happens.

I also started laying down the sound deadner.
