Poor Cheney. Now forever to be known as "That Vice President that shot some guy."
My wife sent me this one.....I'll have to find it to put on the Burb:
Didn't John Quincey Adams win a duel fight once? When men were men and shot their adversary?
Nix that, it was Andrew Jackson.
Thats not a fair comparison. Andrew Jackson was ****ing nuts and did it on purpose and Cheney...well not so much.
Yeah, Andrew Jackson Beat the crap out of somebody who attempted to shoot him.
We need more presidents like Andrew Jackson.
There is more executive-branch-guys-with-guns history... but AFAIK Cheney is the only one who has shot a 2 legged beast that wasn't an enemy though. IMO, we should drop Cheney behind enemy lines in Tehran. Assuming he had a 12ga and his heart medication, he could probably kick the entire countries ass. Solve that pesky terrorists-with-nukes problem pronto!
Andrew Jackson didn't die in a duel... he was waaay to kick ass for that... and not even a nutty politician was crazy enough to face Old Hickory. This is the same guy who, when told that the Supreme Court had laid the smack down on him (in theory!) with a recent decision basically said 'ok, they made their decision, lets see them enforce it... I have the army, not them'. Heh heh. AJ was definitely the man. His army whooped the Brits so bad in New Orleans (after the war of 1812 had already ended btw...) that it pretty much guarenteed that no Brit soldier would ever land on American soil with militant intent again.
Alexander Hamilton, though he was never president....he was secretary of treasury, i believe, under Washington
Your are correct, I got my facts crossed, Alexandrer Hamilton was shot a killed by Aaron Burr in a duel and Burr was VP. I knew Hamilton Had something to do with it.
