Ok so 2001 grand prix anyone got exploded diagram of the blower motor for the heater?

I am not a small guy and it's under the dash hard to get to for me. I replaced the resistor pretty sure it's the actual blower motor itself

I replaced a blower motor in a 98 one time. I ended up laying backwards and upside down in order to get the job done. It was the only way I could finess my fizique in order to make it work. I am 6'2" and 250lbs.....it looks hilarious:haha:

Once I got in said "position", it was a cake walk.:waytogo:

Good luck sir, and remember to post some pics for us:thumb:

If it's like my 93 was, just burn the car to the ground

But seriously after doing it I think the original was installed before any of the dash when the car was built. :doah:

But yah I did same thing, upside down on the pass seat.

Got it done. Passenger seat out laying down and one big wire loom attached to an immovable clamp.

Pretty easy overall but man being upside down hurts my head something awful. On the bright side my head was hurting bad enough I didn't notice the cold.:haha:

Back inside letting the car run. When I can feel my toes again I will go finish it up:D

That has to be one of the worst cars to do a resistor on. I knew a little skinny guy at a shop that could do it in like 5-10 minutes. Took me a while just to get into position and I still had to cut some firewall insulation or carpet pad to get the most forward screws out.

That car also has a reputation for techs to mis-diagnose the blower motor and resistors being faulty and actually being the ignition switch assembly. I've known 3 techs as well as myself on different Grand Prixs to replace the resistor and blower motors and it turns out to be the ignition switch.

Ignition switch is a big problem on these cars. But not for me yet

If it makes you guys feel any better, I stubbed my toe yesterday up in the garage working on the rig in flip flops. :D

Don't get me started on that GD ignition switch. My wife's 96 Grand Am has gone through 2 of them in the 10 years we've been together. The damn key gets stuck and it won't let you shut it down completely.....grrr.

I've learned to just reach up under the column when I shut the key off and push the little pin in and it lets the key out every time. :waytogo:
