It may not be the best example of a cage, but it apparently did it's job! If the description is correct the vehicle had a fairly major wipe-out at 40 mph and "nobody got hurt"......not exactly sure what everybody expects the cage to look like afterwards?

I agree.
I am not saying that the cage couldn't have used some cross bracing and better connections to the frame but it did it's job and that is all that really count's here.

I really think that we get into over building our cages and at some point perhaps we do more harm than good with a stiff cage.

In a big wreck somethings has to give to slow the humans down inside at a rate that their bodies can withstand. Think Nascar, their cages are designed with a certain amount of give in certain areas.

Just my latest theory/opinion

Looks too me like the cage worked great

i'm sure he added that later, but wow, sucks for any vehicle. U had a 1 ton TRE fail in my drive way, I cant imagine that happening to my truck.... I didnt have any type of roll cage in at the time either. I installed the factory roll bar after that just incase

Yea, sorry if I made that confusing by editing the story in, I didnt think yall'ed jump in that quick, and I was tired.....

That was phaze one of the cage build as we only have limted access to a bender. Two months ago he didnt even have that, if it wasn't for this much of it we would be burrying a man not a truck. On his next truck I'm sure the cage will be MUCH better.

Now he has to drag the next truck off of the back burner. Ranger cab truggy, 351 cleavland, C6, 205, HP 60 front, 70 rear, 4 link f/r, scout 2 boxed frame, 38.5'' sx's......
