Porus welds, experts please help.....

yeah, no doubt. I've been welding and fabricating for 6 years now and have seen all kinds of weird stuff. Its hard to kind of pinpoint a problem over the net. Kinda like trying to find a vibration in your driveline over the phone. I noticed there is alot of talk about wire feed speed and voltage. You can usually lift the cover of the welder and look at the settings chart on the inside cover for a base reference. I say base reference because welding machines are tempermental. I've used two identical machines at two different settings. You've just got to learn how to identify the sound of the weld when you're laying it down , but also watch and check for excessive splatter ,whether the wire is pushing the gun or the stickout is gettihg burned off to early.(indicating of toofast or too slow). What I would do is make sure your regulators are working good and connections have no dirt in them, and get some soapy water in a spray bottle and check all lines and connections for leaks. make sure I have the right gas mixture and good clean and proper wire. If I needed to replace my gun, I'd go with a TWEECO. Other than that ,I couldn't tell you unless I was there.Good luck, Rick
