Well I have some good news and some bad news... I just found out a few days ago that my wife is pregnant with our second child (that's the good news:thumb:) the bad news is that the single cab truck is not going to cut it for family wheeling and camping duties :dunno:.

I have put a ton of time into my current frame b/w weld on steering box braces, my rear suspension is welded on for the 64 swap, I bolted and welded by B52 hangers, rock sliders are welded on the frame, and plus it from a 74 3/4 ton and has been shortened 20" and is thicker than most blazer and 1/2 ton frames.

I want to stay with some type of chevy body and my frame if it's doable but I also need additional capacity so I'm fishing for ideas. (and stuff local guys have for sale)

I also am now in maryland and trying to find a rust free blazer tub or crew cab is painful but I'm open to all options. the weird shape of my frame is not all that helpful either but I'm open to suggestions. I have read MTMikes thread on the crew cab shorty and I don't think that solution will work for me b/c of welded in cross members as well as not wanting a big body lift. so all that to say fire away with thoughts and questions. Thanks.

Blazer body swap would probably be the easiest to accomplish your goals.

I'm with Kert. Either look into a blazer swap or since you have some time (assuming you aren't taking a new-born on the trails) see what you can get for your truck.
Maybe with some patients you can get enough coin to buy a clean blazer or crew cab and have some cash to build it up again.

If you have the room and money, keep your truck and get something more family friendly. I still have the same 79 chevy stepside I bought 22 years ago and can't seem to bring myself to sell it. I'll be driving it when I have to while I restore (build) my blazer.
