Now that summer is getting closer, what's everyone got planned for their suburbans?

What I've got planned (so far):
Sliders in place of sorta-rusty rockers.
Maybe a new rear bumper.
More rust repair.
Corvette servo, replace rear tranny seal.
General maintenance like ignition stuff, maybe timing chain, etc.

Nothing major for me this summer...I'll be spending most of my "truck" money on gas. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

pretty much a new motor for my burb

oh and the perpetual refilling of the gas tank /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I am going to try and accomplish one or more of the following:
cross over steering
5:13 gears
new drivshafts
front bumper
rear bumper

we'll see how much I can get done with the price of gas it may be a minimal accomplishment, but we'll see. I might have to buy a motorcycle from work and put the money I save into my /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif.

front and rear bumpers
paint and body work
new set of tires (33's)
swapping to a 6" rear spring instead of a 4" and adding a zero-rate to the front
new windshield & all new weather stripping

Homemade sliders,
get a girlfriend that likes to wheel,
new front n rear bumpers,
MORE LIGHTS!!!
bigger tires n wheels,
rebuild the 14bff with and install a locker,
get a girlfriend that likes to wheel, /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif
PAINT !
actual front locker,
AND,,,
get a girlfriend that likes to wheel /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Well, that's all fine and dandy but I would try to find a girlfriend who likes to wheel /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

I have almost everything I need done except for:
Nerf-step bars DP 90K5 is building them.
Rear winch bumper for warn 12000-need to talk with DP 90K5 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Install snowplow lights - stock headlights too tall

I think that will be it for now. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
unless something else happens.

When you get the rear bumper...I WANT PICS!!! Anyway this summer I plan to

Re-do my headliner
bedline my cargo area
front winch and bumper
roofrack with a shiteload of lights
finish parting out my CUCV's before I go off to college

I'm gonna convert my 89 from tailgate to barn doors. build roof rack. rear bumper with spare tire carrier and finish the camo paint

Do you have any pics of the construction or partially finished nerf-step bars that DP90K5 is building you? If they are anything like that front bumper he built, I'm sure they will look awesome.

With a little luck I will get the AC fixed on the Sub. If I can secure the funds from my wife, I will try and get my front and rear bumpers built. After that, try and get my dad to decide he needs to retire his 85 sub, so I can rape it for the fenders, lower grill support, and all 4 doors. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

Well, since you asked /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Fabricate:
front winch bumper, rear bumper, shifters for doubler, rear overhang armor, side armor(above rocksliders), and skid plates
Mount:
hydralic winch and cross over steering
Install:
front gears, rear gears, power steering cooler, and new front spring bushings
Buy:
Front Detroit locker, weld on steering box brace, hydro assist steering, oil cooler, tranny cooler, spare 42" Super Swamper, 35 spline stub shafts, and locking hubs
Fix:
parking brake, off road lights, and AC

If I get all of this done by September I should actually make it through the Rubicon that month, because I don't understand that heep thing.

Install 1" body lift Done!
Rotate transfer case Done!
Finish getting engine put back together so it will run. Done!
Rock sliders (hopefully)
Finish building D70 for the rear.
Then just a bunch of general clean up maint type stuff
O and a new windsheild!
Maybe a new 4" lift

BONUS

Trimmed my fenders too! /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif
Now I think I'm going after my bumper too

The only thing I have is a drawing that I faxed to him on the design. It will be similar to the ones that smittybilt
use to make. He told me he will start on them this saturday
and that if everything goes ok they will be shipped monday. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif The rear bumper will also be in the works soon. I will also be looking at something for the front similar to the one he did for nvrenuf.

well today going to replace rear brake shoes(gear oil is bad on brakes) and put my KCs on. The rest of the summer hopefully I wont be in the feild too much so I can go wheel. /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

All I have left to finish up is put on the new wheels tonight. The poser suburban you see on the left is now history, in its place is project HOOV (high occupancy offroad vehicle) It now showcases most all the parts we build. I started two weeks ago with gutting out the stock drivetrain from the transfer case on down the line. To date it now has the following:
Dually dana 60 4.56's and a detroit locker
FF 14 bolt rear with a detroit
A doubler transfer case setup with triple sticks
Cross over steering with high steer.
Rear axle truss
Inverted shocks
An over the top of the driveshaft traction bar that is 6 feet long /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif(actually protrudes up through the floor between the front seats)
Rear disc brakes
Custom made billet steel rear wheel spacers 3.5" thick.
The wheels are the radial Hummer wheels with a bolt in rock ring
Installed one of our front bumpers with a Mile Marker Hydraulic winch
Rock sliders
Cut the front fenders
Rhino lined the lower section of the body from where the trim used to be down.

A rear bumper is in the works to compliment the front.
A Confer roof rack is setting in the corner waiting to be modified. It will be mounted to the frame and rear bumper and setup to hinge to the rear and set down on the ground for easier loading.

Pictures are soon to follow as soon as I get time.

Here is a preliminary pic. Daniel said he will angle the steps more & then weld the mounts up

Can't wait for those pics either....

Finish the rear 60 install (If I can figure out the disc set-up)

Fight rust some more....

Make that tired ass motor run right, or start the 400....

All I have left to do is:

Put on the nerf bars I have, replace the blower motor, valve cover gaskets, finish installing the interior pieces (they've been sitting loose for 2.5 years), and maybe wash it.
