Thanks… if you polish a turd for 2 years…everyday… it will eventually shine. What an experience. I work on this bi@#h every day

That's a sweet square body! Where's the pic taken? What happened to it?

Thanks. Pic was taken next to a mine shaft on Peavine, up above the Las Brisas entrance iirc. Bought it in 2002 (i was 18), sold it in early 2007. It was super, super clean, but was plagued with electrical problems and got 7mpg. 7 mpg, loaded or unloaded, fast or slow, all the time. It got to the point that I spent my nights fixing electrical gremlins so I could go to work in the morning. Not to mention that I was a dumb kid and hacked a bunch of things together on it. I was dating my (now) wife and was just starting to get serious about my career, I decided that I needed something more reliable and cost effective. Bought the 97 and my old man wasn't letting me park 2 trucks at his house. Had it for sale for $4500 for 6 months, exhausted all means of advertising it, no local takers. Put it on ebay, some guy from Texas drove up here paid me $2500 and put it on a trailer. Said he owned a resto shop and was gonna make a Fall Guy truck out of it. Miss it sometimes and would love to find it, but I gave the buyer the whole "baby book," with all receipts and vin info and everything. Don't think I have a trace of info left on it besides the couple pictures.

I love that!! I want to lower a mid-70's 2wd with an '80 front clip full 'vert like yours in that color. What color is your canvas top?

Pic of mine, even though it's not a K5. This was on the North Slope of Alaska this summer. Don't believe the horror stories about gas being rediculous in Prudhoe Bay if you ever decide to road trip up there, it was barely a dollar more a gallon than Fairbanks. The gas in those cans became the most expensive stuff I put in any vehicle if you factor in the cost of the cans...

Nice! :D

Heck yes!

I've often wondered about the story behind this pic. Care to share? I think it must've been just before I joined back in the day...

Makes sense. Dang logic and responsible adulthood... always gets in the way. :)

That was quite a few years ago out in Moab on the "Rock Pile" which is part of Pritchett Canyon. I was just about up when it slid back down HARD and bounced back, I thought for sure we were going over backwards, it actually fell forward up against the rock wall and then slid to the right almost going over on it's side. It settled down enough that I was able to back up and down without any damage, the rear bumper and probably a few pebbles were all that kept it from going over and going over hard.
