Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

What I meant was that it does return to center, as opposed to where it would try, but not get there, unlike it does now....I don`t think we need to get into this Avery. Do I need to explain the "importance" of steering with you??;) ;)

One more thing I also noticed, one of the u-joints on the XJ shaft I have in there is busted...anyone got an extra xj shaft?:D
Uhhh no you don't need to explain the importance of steering to me...but do you need us to help you out? From the sounds of it your steering isn't exactly what I'd call correct. But w/e...this happens every time I open my mouth...have fun, keep us posted on the project and don't kill yourself. :)

Avery, whats your expert opinion on correct steering geometry? And if I'm getting a slight pull to the left while braking whats that about? Is that a steering/suspension thing? also I feel my truck is pulling to the left at all times what could that be? Lesson to learn dont comment on something you have no clue about unless u ask questions. My K5s reason for that funky left pulling problem is a wheel bearing. I'm certain you wouldn't guess that.

Listen kid, just stay out if you don`t have something usefull to say...If you read my post correctly, you`ll see that my steering IS now correct, as opposed to where it wasn`t beforehand....

Very well put big blaze. I've got more respect for you because you work on your own rig, dont ask stupid questions, also you listen, and take other peoples advice.

The real answer is CASTER.

hmm mine pulls to the right, and you said bearings may cause that? still havnt checked to see if my calipers seized though:doah:

sorry to hijack

Well I know for certain my wheel bearing is causing this its about half way to be a gone. If its pulling constantly and you smell the gas brakes give off then you might have a sticking caliper. If I could test drive your K5 I could tell you.

Alright guys, lets stay on topic here :deal:

Little update: Almost ready to put my order in at rockauto.com for bearings/races/seals/studs. Gonna make a few phone calls to find about getting my parts dipped in some acid...

Any recommendations on lug nuts??? I looked at the McGards, and it would cost me over $100 for lugs from them:crazy:  . I already have their wheel locks, but I`m going to need to pick up some more lug nuts....Any usign alloy nuts? Theres a store on ebay selling them pretty cheap, but they`re black.....

alright...I`m almost ready to paint the wheels. Anyone have any paint scheme ideas? I think the two colors I`m using will be hammertone gray, and hammertone black...I`m open to suggestions if ya got any...

how about either: all black, gray with black center, or black with gray center??

Alright, after some serious thinking tonight, I`ve layed out a couple plans. Now, some of you may not be happy with this, but I`m sure you`ll still support it, as this will still be MY "ultimate" trail rig....more to follow....

why even ask? You already know that all black is the best option on the face of the planet....

Go with what you like, but I would go black with chrome lug nuts.

Agreed; black needs something to break it up, and the chrome lug nuts will do just that. Personally, completely blacked-out vehicles look stupid.

What you don't who 50 cent is? I might be a country boy from the sticks, but all the clubs play rap downtown(ECU is 15 mins from my apartment).

No, I know who he is (terrible rapper IMO; I prefer West Coast gangster rap from the early '90s), that is why I said "wow".
