Thanks guys, the truck was Jakes first truck. That’s why we kept it.
That Ferrari we cannot even legally talk about so we’ll skip that.
And yes @GWeakland620 bring the popcorn cause this truck is gonna be bad ass and budget oriented.

Working on a crossbar that will still allow the air cleaner to be removed easily and the carb to be serviced. The biggest issue is that the brake master sits right above the coilover tower. I decided to build a standoff bracket out of 1/8" plate for the tube to land on. It will be keyed to the tower to the bracket itself will be taking the laod. There will be 3 bolts to hold it to the tower, then in the tube will be 2 interlocking clamps. That should make it easily serviceable. Anyways, ran out of plate so carboard will have to do till I can get more materials.

Got the crossbar finished up! 100% bolt on, and can still remove the carb with it installed so service will still be easy. Also got some new shoes. Wheels have too much backspace so the front needs soacers so it doesn't hit the heim on the tierod. Also need fiberglass fenders bad!

Well, it's done for now. Handles amazing! Sits a hair taller than my K5. Got some of the general grabbers in 35" tall flavor. It is very very fun! Just need to do a tune up on the motor and service the trannsmission and it will be on daily driver duty

That’s a good looking shortbox, it wears theose dents well. Really cool truck.

Thanks! We will eventually get straighter panels for it, but for now, I like it.

I love that you kept the half ton axles. Are you going to or did you truss the front axle already?

Thanks! The front axle brackets for the coilovers brace the inner C's where they tend to brake. I highly doubt any more trussing will be needed on the front axle. Everyone else with a Fortify kit hasn't had any issues with bending housings, and these pigs fly!

I will be putting 8 lug outers on the front and then running a 14 bolt full floater out back later on.

Railed on this thing the other night. Took my wife to the top of saddleback mountian. Handled great but there is still room for shock tuning. Good part is nothing broke!! Not that it was a gnarly trail. Just a long crappy dirt road. For what it's worth I did the entire trail in only 45 minutes which took my buddies an hour and a half to complete.
